“What I have seen in my lifetime is too much to bear!” - Ahmed Hassan Jabbar Qdeih (95)
On February 7th, 1957, a month before Israel´s withdrawal from the occupied Gaza Strip, Ahmed was arrested by the Israeli army and lined up with other ten men. They were then executed. The rifle which targeted Ahmed malfunctioned. When he was later discovered to be alive, he was taken captive and imprisoned for eight years in an Israeli prison, where he endured ill-treatment and torture.
